Having discussed how energy vampires operate, let’s now explore how we can repair the damages following such encounters! (More on energy vampires in “Energy Vampires – Why Do We Allow Thieves into Our Treasure Chest?”)
The most crucial aspect is awareness. We should be aware that we need to monitor our life energy, just as we need to eat regularly and consume adequate amounts of water. When our souls are depleted, we often feel compelled to eat something substantial and sweet or drink a lot of alcohol at a party, or devour a whole bag of chips. However, doing these is akin to eating when we are thirsty and drinking water when our stomach is growling. It doesn’t satisfy our actual needs.
Therefore, the next time we feel an inexplicable urge to eat or drink alcohol, despite having a full stomach or already having two glasses of wine, let’s first try to “feed” our souls, meaning let’s try to absorb life energy. There’s a high chance that the unnecessary cravings for food and alcohol will pass.
Many methods can replenish our energy reserves. Here are a few; try them out and see which works best! Everyone likes different things.
Silence – One of the most effective methods. Just be silent for a few hours. If possible, put down smart devices too. Don’t utter a word! Silence is incredibly replenishing. Initially, we might feel lonely or restless, but don’t give up! Our soul will eventually savor the silence, and we might incorporate a “silence day” weekly.
Nature – (More on this in “Biophilia vs. "Human Zoos”) Take a walk in the park, run in the forest, do some gardening, sail, ski, or do anything else, as long as it is an outdoor activity. This is another very effective way to replenish energy reserves.
Eastern Practices. Qigong, yoga, Tai chi, and meditation all work very well. Even one or two sessions a week can make us feel much more balanced and joyful in everyday life.
Sports – Any sports can help in effective rejuvenation, as long as we enjoy it and don’t torture ourselves in the name of competitiveness or hope for weight loss.
Hobbies – Any hobby or activity in which we can lose ourselves helps to replenish life energy. Achieving a flow state makes our entire soul dance, and we will surely no longer crave a huge amount of chocolate cake. For more on this, I recommend Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi’s book titled “Flow.”
Pets – Interacting with our furry friends can be therapeutic. Spending time and playing with our pets, whether they are dogs, cats, birds, or any other creatures, offers unconditional love and companionship. Their simple joy and innocence can be a direct source of positivity, helping us forget our worries and stresses. So, the next time you feel drained, perhaps some quality time with your pet could be the perfect remedy.
As for me, I prefer silence, nature, pets, and meditation from the above methods, although the first one is quite challenging with so many dogs around (we have 8 adopted ones). It’s funny when I try to herd them, gesturing without words. I can’t say they take me very seriously.
Most people don’t pay attention to keeping their bodies and souls adequately charged with life energy, even though everyone holds the key to their own rejuvenation. There’s no need for hard-to-get or expensive equipment. If everyone dedicated just ten to fifteen minutes daily to staying silent and focusing inward, I believe we would encounter significantly fewer energy vampires, and the world would be a much more pleasant place.
