150 Words: The Chain Bridge of Budapest
She stood at Clark Ádám Square. She needed to set out. Her husband, – if he still was her husband – awaited her on the other side. He wanted to talk after she discovered his affair with that woman. She loathed both him and the woman. Fueled by anger, she walked. Halfway across the bridge, she thought of the children and felt sorry for them, especially for Lili, who adored her father. Two-thirds of the way across, she looked down at the river. The water swirled darkly; reminiscent of her life. The children will be devastated, especially since Bence was just starting high school. What should she do? She continued walking. When she reached the lion sculptures at the end of the bridge, she saw her husband. Love pierced her heart. She still loved him...
"How could I have traveled such a distance on this short bridge?" – she wondered.
